Serval

One of the different cats of Africa is the serval. It is a lightly built cat, with long legs and a short tail. The ears are close together and are near the top of the head. The serval varies from yellow to orange in color, and is marked with black or brown stripes and spots. It is from three to four feet in length. It is found all over Africa south of the Sahara Desert, and seldom lives very far from water. It hunts small antelope, hares, rodents, birds and reptiles, usually on the ground, but it can climb, and is said to be a good jumper.
