Cheetah

The cheetah is also sometimes called the hunting leopard, as it looks something like a leopard and has been trained by man to hunt. It is a long, lean, tawny, pale buff, or grayish-white cat with solid black spots and a black line from eye to mouth on each side. The cheetah lives in both Africa and India, though now it is almost extinct in India, and African cheetahs are imported for hunting. It lives on open plains, low rocky hills, or bush country. It hunts by day and can run as fast as a small gazelle. It is said to be able to travel at 45 miles per hour for a quarter of a mile, but a good horse can catch up with it in a mile or two. There are from two to four young each year.
